Stephen G. Roman, Chairman, President & CEO
Mr. Roman is an entrepreneur/financier who has been involved in the resource industry over the past 30 years and has successfully identified, financed, developed, and brought into commercial production a number of mining and oil and gas projects. His past experience includes acting as a director and senior officer of Denison Mines Limited, Lawson Mardon Group, and Zemex Corporation. He also worked to modernize Canada’s Armed Forces in 1984/85 as Policy Adviser to the Minister of National Defense. In addition, Mr. Roman spearheaded the privatization of two major petrochemical companies in Central Europe and was appointed Chairman of Novácke Chemické Závody, a.s., in 2002.
In recent years, Mr. Roman’s focus has been to finance and develop emerging junior, publicly-listed companies, which included: Gold Eagle Mines Ltd., Exall Energy Corporation, Polar Star Mining Corporation, Silvermet Inc, Verena Minerals Corporation, Global Atomic Fuels Corporation (a private Ontario corporation) and Gabriel Resources Ltd. Mr. Roman was recently the founder, Co-Chairman and Director of Gold Eagle Mines Ltd., which was acquired by Goldcorp Inc. for $1.5 billion, the highest price ever paid by a major for a junior gold exploration company. He is currently Executive Chairman of Exall Energy Corporation, and Chairman, President & CEO of Harte Gold Corp., and Global Atomic Fuels Corporation, and Chairman and CEO of Silvermet Inc. Mr. Roman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guelph, Ontario in the field of Geology and Geography. He is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and a director of the Advisory Board of the College of Management and Economics at the University of Guelph.
Fergus P. Kerr, P.Eng., Vice President, Operations
Mr. Kerr is a professional engineer with more than 35 years of mining industry experience, including GM at Denison Elliot Lake uranium mine and Mine Manager at Inco’s Sudbury operations.
George A. Flach, P.Geo., Vice President, Exploration
Mr. Flach is a professional geologist with 25 years experience in exploration and mining, internationally, particularly Africa. He has a number of discoveries to his credit, including the Father Brown deposit of St. Jude Resources Ltd., which was acquired by Golden Star Resources, and the 20 M oz. Tarkwa deposit in Ghana, being mined by Gold Fields.
Rein A. Lehari, C.A., Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Lehari began his career as an auditor with Price Waterhouse. After obtaining his Chartered Accountant designation, he transferred to the Pittsburgh office. On his return to Canada in 1980, Mr. Lehari joined the financial advisory practice, where he was involved in valuations, acquisitions and due diligence until his retirement as a partner in 2002. His industries of primary focus over his career have been mining and real estate. In the mining industry, Mr. Lehari has been involved with numerous mining companies, including substantial international exposure. Since 2002, Mr. Lehari has provided advisory services to a number of companies, including many in the mining industry.
Timothy N. Campbell, B.A. Hons., Vice President
Mr. Campbell is President of Public Company Services Inc. which has provided corporate finance, regulatory compliance and other management services to junior issuers since 1995.
George Davis, C.A., Controller
Mr. Davis is a Chartered Accountant and has spent the past five years working with PricewaterhouseCoopers as part of their mining practice. During this time, he provided audit and advisory services including financial reporting controls, operational effectiveness and International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) pertaining to the mining sector.
Andrew C. Rickaby, Director & Technical Consultant
Mr. Rickaby is a professional engineer with over 40 years of operating and management experience in the uranium mining industry in Canada, the U.S.A. and Kazakhstan. He was the former Vice President of Mining Operations of Denison Mines. Mr. Rickaby has served two terms as Chair of the Ontario Mining Association and is currently a consultant and Director to a number of mining enterprises. Mr. Rickaby holds a Bachelor of Science, Mining Engineering degree from Queen’s University.
Peter J.M. Hooper, P.Eng., P.Geo.
Mr. Hooper is a senior mining engineer and geologist and principal of Hooper Mining Services which has consulted on projects worldwide. He is President and CEO of Macusani Yellowcake Inc., a Peruvian uranium exploration company, and Kilo Goldmines Inc., a gold corporation with properties in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Derek C. Rance, P.Eng., MBA
Mr. Rance is Chairman and Senior Associate of Behre Dolbear & Company Ltd., a consulting company providing assistance to the mineral industry with due diligence, feasibility studies, optimizations, valuations, and marketing studies, a position he has held since 1997. Formerly the President and COO of the Iron Ore Company of Canada, Mr. Rance is a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Mining Metallurgy and Petroleum.
H. Douglas Scharf, C.A.
Mr. Scharf is a Chartered Accountant with 30 years of experience in precious metals, base metals mining and uranium. He has been involved in numerous financings, mergers and acquisitions during the course of his career. Mr. Scharf served as Chief Financial Officer of Exall Resources Limited (Gold Eagle Mines Ltd.), Executive Vice President, Corporate Development of HudBay Minerals Inc., Chief Financial Officer and a Director of Southern Cross Resources Inc. (now Uranium One Inc.), a Director and Chief Financial Officer of Inmet Mining Corporation, Vice President, Finance of Placer Dome Inc., Chief Financial Officer of the Dome Mines Group, a Director of Gold Eagle Mines Ltd., Polar Star Mining Corporation and Chief Financial Officer of Silvermet Inc. Mr. Scharf is a Director of Silvermet Inc. and Chairman of Asia Now Resources Corp. Mr. Scharf holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from York University in Toronto.
