Stephen G. Roman, Chairman, President & CEO

Mr. Roman is an entrepreneur/financier who has been involved in the resource industry over the past 40 years and has successfully identified, financed, developed, and brought into commercial production many mining and oil and gas projects.  His past experience includes acting as a director and senior officer of Denison Mines Limited, Lawson Mardon Group, and Zemex Corporation.  He also worked to modernize Canada’s Armed Forces in 1984/85 as Policy Adviser to the Minister of National Defense.  In addition, Mr. Roman spearheaded the privatization of two major petrochemical companies in Central Europe and was appointed Chairman of Novácke Chemické Závody, a.s., in 2002, Slovakia’s largest petrochemical company with 2,800 employees.

In recent years, Mr. Roman’s focus has been to finance and develop emerging junior, publicly-listed companies, which included: Gold Eagle Mines Ltd., Gabriel Resources Ltd., Verena Minerals Corporation (now Belo Sun Mining Corp.), Exall Energy Corporation, Polar Star Mining Corporation, Silvermet Inc., and Global Atomic Fuels Corporation (a private Ontario corporation).  Mr. Roman was recently the founder, Co-Chairman and Director of Gold Eagle Mines Ltd., which was acquired by Goldcorp Inc. for $1.5 Billion.  He is currently Chairman, President & CEO of Global Atomic Fuels Corporation, Harte Gold Corp. and Silvermet Inc. 

Since 1991, when Mr. Roman started his own Mining and Resource house, he has successfully completed approximately $2.5 billion in transactions in the mining, oil & gas and petrochemical sectors. Mr. Roman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guelph, Ontario in the field of Geology and Geography.  He is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and a former director of the Advisory Board of the College of Management and Economics at the University of Guelph.  Most recently, Mr. Roman was awarded the honour of “Prospector of the Year” for 2016 and has received the “Bill Dennis Award” from the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) in March, 2016.

Mr. Kerr is a professional engineer with more than 35 years of mining industry experience, including GM at Denison Elliot Lake uranium mine and Mine Manager at Inco’s Sudbury operations.

George A. Flach, P.Geo., Vice President, Exploration
Mr. Flach is a professional geologist with 25 years experience in exploration and mining, internationally, particularly Africa.  He has a number of discoveries to his credit, including the Father Brown deposit of St. Jude Resources Ltd., which was acquired by Golden Star Resources, and the 20 M oz. Tarkwa deposit in Ghana, being mined by Gold Fields.

Mr. Wollenberg is a professional geologist with 30 years professional uranium experience.  He is a Director, North American Exploration, for AREVA Resources Canada and was involved with the development of Areva’s Niger projects.

Robert Kusins, P.Geo., Resource Geologist
Mr. Kusins is a professional geologist with 35 years experience in geological database management, geological modelling and resource estimation.  He had recently worked with SRK Consulting on modelling of the DADA deposit.

Henri Sanguinetti, P.Geo., Consulting Geologist
Mr. Sanguinetti is a professional geologist with 35 years experience in uranium prospecting and economic geology in Niger and elsewhere, including all phases from mineral exploration to project and development, resource estimation using advanced geostatistics, grade control in underground and open pit mines and reserve calculation.

Rein A. Lehari, CPA, CA, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Lehari began his career as an auditor with Price Waterhouse.  Mr. Lehari worked in the financial advisory practice, where he was involved in valuations, acquisitions and due diligence until his retirement as a partner in 2002.  His industries of primary focus have been mining and real estate.  Since 2002, Mr. Lehari has provided advisory services to a number of companies, including many in the mining industry.

Timothy N. Campbell, B.A., Vice President & Secretary
Mr. Campbell is President of Public Company Services Inc. which has provided corporate finance, regulatory compliance and other management services to junior issuers since 1995.

Ian D. Atacan, CPA, CMA, MBA, B.Sc., Controller
Mr. Atacan is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA), MBA (London, UK) and Electrical Engineer (Turkey). Mr. Atacan began his career working for Procter & Gamble in Istanbul. He then joined DHL in Brussels, Belgium until 1998. Before joining Silvermet, Mr. Atacan held corporate controllership roles in various public companies, including Epsilon Energy (TSX: EPS), Impax Energy Services Income Trust (TSX: MPX) and EnerCare (TSX: ECI).

Currently Mr. Atacan serves as CFO of Silvermet Inc., is on the board of Canadian Turkish Business Council and acts as its Treasurer. Mr. Atacan is also a member of the Career Management Committee of the Toronto Chapter of Financial Executives International as well as the Professional Conduct Committee of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

Ibrahim Alisso, M.Sc., Country Manager
Mr. Alisso is a geologist and spent 20 years at the Niger Ministry of Mines as Manager of Exploration Projects and Director of the Geological Department.

Abdoulaye Christophe Din, M.Sc., Exploration Manager
Mr. Din is a senior exploration and resource geologist with 11 years West African exploration experience.  His previous work was with St. Jude Resources Ltd. and Golden Star Resources Ltd., in various positions including Senior Geologist, Technical Director, and Country Manager.

Amido Boukari, Chief Field Geologist
Mr. Boukari is a geologist with 25 years uranium exploration experience in the Tim Mersoi Basin.  He spent 10 years with the Power Nuclear Company of Japan.

Andrew C. Rickaby, Director & Technical Consultant
Mr. Rickaby has over 40 years of operating and management experience in the uranium mining industry in Canada, the U.S.A. and Kazakhstan.  He was the former Vice President of Mining Operations of Denison Mines.  Mr. Rickaby has served two terms as Chair of the Ontario Mining Association and is currently a consultant and Director to a number of mining enterprises.  Mr. Rickaby holds a Bachelor of Science, Mining Engineering degree from Queen’s University.

Peter J.M. Hooper, P.Eng., P.Geo.
Mr. Hooper is a senior mining engineer and geologist and principal of Hooper Mining Services which has consulted on projects worldwide.  He was founder of Macusani Yellowcake Inc., a Peruvian uranium exploration company, and Kilo Goldmines Inc., a gold corporation with properties in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Derek C. Rance, P.Eng., MBA
Mr. Rance is Chairman and Senior Associate of Behre Dolbear & Company Ltd., a consulting company providing assistance to the mineral industry with due diligence, feasibility studies, optimizations, valuations, and marketing studies, a position he has held since 1997.  Formerly the President and COO of the Iron Ore Company of Canada, Mr. Rance is a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Mining Metallurgy and Petroleum.

H. Douglas Scharf, CPA, CA
Mr. Scharf has been in international precious metal and base metal mining since 1978.  He has been involved in a number of acquisitions, mergers, financings and development projects.  As Chief Financial Officer of the Dome Mines Group of Companies, he was instrumental in the formation of Placer Dome Inc.  Mr Scharf was Vice President, Finance of Placer Dome Inc. and also a a Director and Chief Financial Officer of Inmet Mining Corporation.  He was also instrumental in the acquisition and financing of HudBay Minerals Inc. and served as that company’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Development.  He has served as a director and consultant to a number of other mining companies.  Mr. Scharf is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from York University in Toronto, Ontario.
